Incredible Shrinking Appetite

I haven’t posted for a few days because it has still been quite busy for me with work and also I had to prepare for my work trip (which I am now on! woo hoo. More on how to stick to a High Raw Diet whilst you travel later).

In the meantime here is a brief recap on what I have done since Saturday:

 Incredible Shrinking Appetite
Breakfast on Sunday: I juiced some oranges, apples and pears in my juicer then blended it with blueberries, frozen bananas, kiwi and blackberries. This usually lasts me until lunchtime or even later. This day I had a whole lot so I basically drank it all day.

Vinyasa Yoga was at 5 so not wanting to have a full belly and feeling quite satisfied on my smoothie all day, I waited til after yoga to have my dinner. Lately I have been walking the puppy after sunset (because it is just too damn hot during the day) so I took her out after Yoga for the usual 6km walk around the golf course that I have strangely gotten into the habit of doing each evening, then by the time I got home all I felt like for dinner was oranges. Weird, but after watching 12 Steps for Raw Foods by Victoria Boutenko DVD last week, she talks about recognising your cravings as it is your body’s way of telling you what you need. Plus also not going to bed on a full tummy of food (because by this time it was almost 9pm so I didn’t want to make a full dinner). My blogger friend Casey also writes about eating in the evening here. Get on over to her blog, she has plenty of great information too which I tap into frequently.

So basically I lived a 100% Raw day (and all fruit at that!) on Sunday with no great difficulty. I was never hungry or tired and I listened to what my body was telling me I needed. I had plenty of energy (especially to do my yoga and 6km walk/jog) and still slept soundly.

Sunday night we decided to remove all our electronic equipment from the bedroom too. Most people know it already but never really put it into practice. Victoria Boutenko talks about this in detail also on her DVD, so we decided to give it a try for real to see how it worked. Out come our alarm clock, mobile phones, we unplugged the TV (soon to be moved to the living area) and my laptop was turned off and unplugged.

Next day: Monday morning was a fresh day! We woke up feeling like a huge change had occurred by not having electronics even plugged into the wall.

Breakfast was this:

 Incredible Shrinking Appetite
Frozen Bananas, frozen pineapple, apple and Vitamineral Green (highly concentrated powdered blend of vegetable superfoods) as I had run out of leafy greens as I was letting my produce stock reduce in time for my trip away.

Incredible Shrinking AppetiteI sipped on this for the rest of the day whilst running errands then finally getting a few moments to lay by the pool to get some Vitamin D. This is carrot, celery, spinach, cucumber with ginger in the juicer. I thought the carrots would make it sweet enough but I had to add some apples in to make it a bit easier to drink. It was actually nice to drink with the apples. I did get a couple of funny glances at the pool though hehe.

Lunch was this:
Incredible Shrinking AppetiteKristen’s Cheezy Hemp Nacho Sauce with cucumber and celery. Doesn’t look like much but, man it filled the spot! Warning: make sure you brush your teeth before you leave the house (or atleast check the mirror!)

Funnily enough this kept me going until dinner time again, when I walked/jogged the Lucy dog again, and came home, not hungry for dinner then went straight to bed. Not ideal, but for some reason, my appetite is decreasing with all the RAW goodness.

I’ll post again very soon with my in hotel room blending antics and Raw and Vegan meal choices whilst away…and maybe with some travel pics to boot.

Oh and by the way, check out my friend Natasha’s blog The Voracious Vegan. She has reviewed my birthday cake that I gave her last week here.
