Back home, but not for long.
I started the morning off with another green smoothie with the travel blender again:
This one has a banana, water, capsicum, green apple, blueberries & spinach.
Make sure you check your teeth afterwards!!!
When I got to the plane, the green smoothie I ordered looked a bit suss so I opted to have a banana with some almond butter that I had packed from home.
Being a newbie to the almond butter craze, I looked at the jar and noticed a really thick layer of liquid sitting on top. Thinking I had left the lid off slightly when it was in the cooler bag with ice, I assumed the liquid was water and I tipped it out before grabbing the knife to slather on my banana. BIG mistake!! I could have done with that natural oil to help lubricate the almond butter onto my banana…now the butter is really dry (still delicious but it stuck to my gums!!!)
Thought I’d try some of the asparagus soup onboard but opted to give it to one of the pilots instead as it looked to have cream in it, so I had the vegetarian tom yum soup minus the prawn garnish (to the right).
I had 3 of these green teas to get me through the rest of the day:
I got home and met up with the Voracious Vegan herself for a doggy walk for about an hour with her pack and my little darling, then hit up the gym for back, chest, shoulders, biceps and triceps. Becci came along for her cardio session. It makes it so much easier to get to the gym when you have a workout buddy.
When I got home I really felt uninspired so as I started to clean out my fridge and freezer I found Linda McCartney’s vegan sausages and the back of the freezer. I followed the instructions to oven bake them and made a base salad of spinach, capsicum, hot & spicy olives, cucumbers and sundried tomatoes, and chopped up the sausages and threw them in the salad. Boring. Filled my empty tummy but I don’t rate the sausages AT ALL. Cardboard.
I’m looking forward to having a little more variety tomorrow now that I am back in my house before I head off on my trip in a few days. I will have to make sure I use up all my produce before I go and I am busy compiling a list of things to take and a list of things to buy on arrival at my destination. Oooh 3 more days to go!!
