So much food goodness. YUM.

Hidy hi everyone, sorry for my absence. I have been majorly crazy since getting home from my DC trip and I have even done another short flight since too.

So here’s a quick recap of some of my delicious eats over the last few days!

LOVE this GORAW granola. One of my other purchases from Wholefoods. Didn’t have time to make my own almond milk to have with it so reverted to next best thing.

This stuff is so tasty and satisifies my craving for crunchy and hard food.

Then I had a huge craving for some seaweed so I soaked some Wakame and Arame in some lukewarm water for about 10mins.

And covered it in this dressing:

2 T Nama Shoyu (you could use Light Soy or Tamari)

2 T Sesame Oil

2 T Brown Rice Vinegar

1 T Agave

1 T shaved fresh ginger

1 T sesame seeds

Yeah it was yum. But I think I drank too much of the left over dressing as later that night at Boot Camp I drank 2 L of water and was still thirsty!!

Watched Julie & Julia with a cup of this tea

And some left over chocolate cheesecake (half a slice), also from Pure Market Express. Yeah this stuff is pretty amazing, no dairy AT ALL.

I also made a green salad and broke up the pizza ingredients from Pure Market Express (ordered last week in DC) with the tomato base as dressing.

Here is one of the ‘pepperoni’s’. Even visually these guys do a great job of replicating cooked faves.

The other day I woke up at stupid o’clock in the morning, so made it all better with a blueberry, banana and spinach smoothie. Oooh yeah.

Had my first ever taste of a Coconut Cream Pie Larabar. Think my coconut obsession right now extends to these. Should have bought more!

And the cat and dog looked on…have you ever seen a cat or dog get on or even hang out so closely??

On Jan 26, Aussies all around the world celebrated Australia Day. In Oz, all we really do is have picnics or BBQ’s, play backyard cricket and drink beer. I guess that is how we celebrate our AUSTRALIANESS ?!?

As I was in Saudi I just made a Green & Gold Smoothie instead.

For a snack I nibbled on some Amy’s Salsa

And a Lemon Larabar. Yep, another fave. Oh maybe they all are?

And in BIG NEWS, my friend Natasha from The Voracious Vegan, has been running an Operation Help Haiti campaign, where any of her cakes sales made from her Vegan Bakery here on camp will go to In Defense of Animals: Animal Disaster Relief Fund.

As she is an animal lover in every sense of the word, she has offered to match all sales made for donation  which is pretty incredible. Tasha has been non stop in her kitchen ever since and I thought I’d help out by ordering some of her Gluten free refine sugar free ginger snaps

and some heavenly chocolate cupcakes. ALL VEGAN.

DSCF2543 So much food goodness. YUM.

We kept the gingersnaps for us, but the choc cupcakes were packed up and taken to our friends house party but here we are enjoying a couple at the party.

Thanks Tasha.

Well I think my jet ag has finally departed, however it’s 8.30pm and my eyes are almost shutting. I’m kinda glad as I have a BIG run on early tomorrow morning, and not quite sure how I am going to do, but will see. Thanks to all my wiiter pals for their support and suggestions on my itunes selection. And thanks to the Pure2Raw girls for giving me some advice on some pre, during and post run eating and drinking. I’ll let you know how I go.

I promise to be back with more regular updates (unless I get called out on another trip…hopefully not just yet!)

  1. I can send you some larabars when you need some!! It would be fun to do a bloggy exchange from that far away!! Let me know – Although I’ve never seen the coconut ones, but I have a few places I could search!! :) Let me know!!

    xo Jess

I love seeing what other raw vegans eat! The only thing that is still out of my comfort zone is the seaweed. I haven’t gotten into soaking seaweed yet. I usually just eat nori or occasionally dulse in salads. The Larabars & cheesecake look extra yummy! The thing that I love most about this post is how simple everything is. Thanks for sharing all your meals and ideas!

  3. RawSierra says:

HI Robyn! I love GoRaw’s granola..the chocolate one is awesome. I went thru a bag of that and now I am digging into the Apple and Cinnamon bag. What kind of blender are you using in the picture? Is that a travel blender?

  4. Jennifer says:

    Now I’m hungry again!!!

I really want to try those Coconut Cream Pie Larabars…and munch up all of those chocolate cupcakes! :)

  5. I want some of EVERYTHING YOU WROTE ABOUT!!!!!!

  6. Don’t you just love a good cupcake?? YUM!!

Good luck with the run, we are glad we could help out!
    xoxo

  7. Those cupcakes look goooooood, and I am just loving that hair color on you!

  8. Dotty says:

Hi–love your website! I just wanted to ask–you said you had a run planned for tomorrow. Can you go running in Saudi Arabia? Forgive my ignorance. I thought this would be difficult to do there–I mean, can you wear shorts in public?

    • Girlonraw says:

Great question Dotty! Yeah, usually in Saudi, you are NOT allowed as a woman to show any body part (hence why we wear abaya’s to cover our body when off the compound) however I am fortunate enough to live on a very large compound (equivalent to a couple of suburbs in size) and we have a runners group who organise frequent ‘fun’ runs, and this was one of them. As a large majority of the inhabitants are expats, we are able to wear normal kinda clothes on the camp (within reason…ie no revealing clothes in business areas)

  9. Christine says:

Mmmm, I used to not enjoy cupcakes before going raw because the ones I had were always the cheap dry and bland kind at kid bday parties. But, those look awesome! And now I need to try the coconut cream pie Larabar! Great pics.

  10. Hi Dollface!
I missed you so much! Hope your trip was great! Your raw eats look amazing! I can’t wait to catch up more with you this weekend and check out all of your posts I may have missed!
    Have a great weekend!!!
    XOXO,
    Erin

  11. Awsome I never new that.
