Wanna win? Living Raw Magazine Australia.

intro text Wanna win? Living Raw Magazine Australia.

Here’s how!

Kate Quinn at Living Raw Magazine Australia has kindly offered 1 reader the chance to win 2 back issues of her magazine (Issue 2 & 3)

Here’s what she has to say on her blog about her labour of love

Living Raw grew out of my desire to share the information I had gathered on buying raw, vegan and organic produce in Perth and thoughout Australia. Raw foodists often use ’specialist’ ingredients such as Agave Nectar, raw carob and cacao, raw nuts and superfoods. When I first started exploring and living a raw foods lifestyle, such foods could only be purchased online or through specialist retailers. As more people begin bringing raw foods into their diets, these ingredients are becoming more commonplace – even Coles Supermarkets have started stocking Agave Nectar!

The purpose of Living Raw is to help people who already eat raw foods  find local places to source really raw produce, enable people interested in raw foods to tap into the active community and resources available to them, and to present the uptake of raw foods into any kind of diet as a positive step towards health and a greater connection to our local food sources.

Living Raw provides in-depth reviews of retailers visited by the authors, giving them a “Raw Star Rating” based on their range of raw, vegan and organic produce.  Feature articles cover topics such as Eco-Clothing, Green Lifestyle, Environment, Travel, Fitness, Health and Raw/Vegan Issues while regular features include a directory of organic groceries stores around Australia, the Virtually Raw column connecting you to the online raw community, and delicious raw food recipes using seasonal produce.

The magazine subscription retails for $34.95AUS for a 12 month/6 issue subscription and delivery is free anywhere in Australia ($61.75AUS for international subscribers!). Click here to subscribe.

Although the giveaway is not limited to Australian residents (Kate has said she would send anywhere), there are obvious advantages to an Aussie winning, regarding the local information featured in the magazine, however, I have still decided to subscribe myself AND I AM LIVING IN SAUDI ARABIA (looking forward to the recipes and tips and hints inside!)….so gotta be in it to win it!

    Hey Robyn,

I’ve been lurking for a while, but this is my first post :)

I’d really like to see an article about raw food and fitness, and how to get the best out of your training by following a raw food diet. I’ve been told countless times that I’m not getting enough protein to reach my goals, but I don’t enjoy protein powder – it makes my green smoothies taste of synthetic vanilla :(

I’m pretty new to the raw food diet, so it’d be great to have some information about whether there are certain types of foods I should be consuming/combining for optimal results. It’d be great to be able to tell my trainer, ‘well actually, I get a great protein boost from…’

I really enjoy your blog. Found your video about how to open young coconuts very useful this weekend!

  2. Hi Robyn!

    Thanks for the giveaway offer!

I would like to see a feature on easy raw food entrees (non-gourmet) which do NOT use nuts in the recipes! :)

Hi, Thanks for stopping by my blog! I’m going to add you as a link :) . Okay, I have ideas for two articles – one should be how to begin going raw for very beginners with very basic recipes with no fancy equipment. The second should be to define some of the unusual terms and ingredients I see in raw recipes and to describe some of the equipment needed, an informational article, if you will. Thanks for the giveaway, and you’ve got a great blog here!

    Hi!
Great blog! How come I have not stumbled across you earlier??

I too went vegan after reading skinny bitch! I have been trying to dabble in a little raw for my family for about the last six months. We have been vegan for 2 years. My children are 11, 9 & 7.

I have NEVER liked salads (boy, doesn’t that cause a few laughs when people find out that I’m a vegan who hates salads! People are so uninformed! They think that all vegans eat are salads!). So this is hindering my raw effort a bit, although I am really trying to enjoy salads and it is working – slowly! I could easily eat all the yummy raw desserts with my sweet tooth, but I am trying to cut down the amount of sweet things I eat. I also have quite a bit of weight to lose!

I am interested in your ‘My Usual Eats’ section! I think I am really struggling getting my head around what to eat, and that will help.

I’m with BlessedMama! A basic raw section for REAL beginners, and maybe a bit of an idea of a menu plan for a week.

I will definitely link to your website and add you to my blog list.

    Looking forward to more recipes.

    Tahn

But…I’d love to see an article written on the benefits to the raw “superfoods”! That would be great in helping me decipher which ones are worth spending money on! Or maybe you could help me with that? :)

  8. And added you on Facebook! I also left you a comment there so you’d know it was me!!

  9. And I blogged about your giveaway!!!

Ooh! I would love to see articles about getting enough specific vitamins & minerals from a raw diet, just the usual – b12 & iron! As well as raw food & preganancy, babies etc.

Plus yummy recipes that don’t use a dehydrator!

  17. Kristy says:

I would also like to see some more dessert recipes that don’t ask for nuts or lots of agave. Basically some inexpensive raw dessert ideas.

  18. Brandi says:

I would like to see an article that talks about people with debilitating illness being helped by eating a raw diet. I have a very painful illness that affect my joints. I have been researching alot of raw sites and I really think raw might be the way to go for chronic pain sufferers!!!!!
