Tweet-Up with the Flighties
Hey everyone! How has your week been so far? Sorry I’ve been awol, these across the pond trips knock me around more than I realise, plus I’ve been getting in some much needed shopping time to stock up on some luxuries we don’t really get in my part of the world and we did a little flight the other day to the countryside:
Saturday, I heeded my pal Jenn’s (of the Robertsons of Mumbai who have suddenly moved to Thailaind) advice and checked out Central Market and fell in love.

I just forgot that it was the weekend so probably not the best time to check out a new place, but I walked out with some goodies including a mango slicer (did I mention I am a kitchen gadget FREAK?) and this delicious green juice….ahhh love.
Celery, parsley, spinach & cucumber.
This place was pumping with outdoor music, plenty of food to sample (March of the Foodies is the festival and flavour of the month) and sooo much to choose from. My senses were completely overwhelmed but I was extremely jealous of the locals having access to this wonderfully stocked gourmet market. I walked out with an unpictured bottle of Pomegranate Wine and a large spinach salad for lunch. Then headed on my merry way to do some outlet shopping at Katy Mills. Bring on Victoria’s Secret and Nike
But back to some exciting news! I caught up with my tweetie pal and Flight Attendant podcaster extraordinaire The Flying Pinto and former Flight Attendant Sissie for dinner on Monday night and it was so lovely to meet for real. Sara and I first ‘met’ when I appeared on her podcast show The Crew Lounge a few weeks back (along with some of my other flight attendant bloggy pals that appear from week to week – check it out!), but I’ve also been checking out her terrific Flight Attendant blog here for some time.

Sara was such a darling, knowing my ‘eating’ habits, and her with one foot in the vegan door
she thought she had found us the perfect place to dine, but we arrived to find it was shut up and closed for business. So I was in the hands of the local ladies and we headed off to chain restaurant PF Changs which actually wasn’t too bad. The company made the night though. Was lucky we were all eating veggie so we shared the appetiser of

CHANG’S VEGETARIAN LETTUCE WRAPS
A vegetarian version of their signature appetizer with tofu instead of chicken
COCONUT CURRY VEGETABLES
Stir-fried mixed vegetables, crispy silken tofu and peanuts in a vegetarian coconut curry sauce
MA PO TOFU
Sichuan’s famous dish of crispy silken tofu in a vegetarian sauce with steamed broccoli
All served with Brown Rice!! I love that you can have Brown Rice at restaurants. Seriously it should be standard EVERYWHERE.
Accompanied by a very delicious
ORGANIC AGAVE MARGARITA
4 Copas Tequila and Organic Agave Nectar shaken with fresh lime juice
and yes I was definitely attracted to it because of the Organic Agave
It was a great night and I hope to catch up with the lovely ladies again very soon. Isn’t cyberspace terrific for meeting up with new, likeminded friends?
Have anyone ever had any Blog or Tweet ups (Twitter meet ups)?
Time for me to buzz off but I will be back later with some of the treats I have managed to snag over the last couple of days of shopping ready to take back home
Nighty night

I LOVE PF Changs! Seriously, when we first went vegan that was our favorite restaurant to go to because SO many of their dishes can be veganized…and so deliciously! When are you going to be back Robyn??? Must go for a dingo romp! It’s starting to get so hot already.
Hey, don’t forget to check out my IWD video and my guestpost on Choosing Raw. I’m interested to know what you think!
Let me know when you are back in the Magic Kingdom!
Heading right over there now lady
So glad you were able to go to CM! Isn’t it great? It was so bad when I was feasting on meat and cheese on a regular basis – that place can kill the pocket book. Glad those days are behind me!
Your brown hair looks lovely!!! It is so shiny – see, you already have the look of a “Lady of Singapore!” Ha, ha!
Who knew PF Chang’s had an organic agave margarita?! Looks like you had a great time! Now you have reminded me of Victoria’s Secret. I am so desperate for some new bras…
Oh you make me laugh Jennifer
what a sweet organic market…
i haven’t met any fellow bloggers, but i would definitely love to! every time something is arranged i always have some other obligation!!!!
have a safe trip back home!
=)
Thanks Nelly.
Ok that margarita looks soo good. I had no idea it was available there. As always your post was funny and interesting. The CM Market looks great. I too live in a small town where raw/organic goodies are limited. We have a tiny co-op here but that’s it
But like you I stock up when I go out of town.
Meetups are the best!
I’ve meet a few bloggy friends! Always a good time!
I have met a few bloggers – it’s always tons of fun. I SO agree with you on the brown rice. In fact, I just had a mini rant about it on my blog recently
ooooh I’ll have to take a look!
I went to PF changs once and it was SO fantastic!! I had the lettuce wraps too!
I haven’t had any blogger meet ups, but there is one big one in the works this summer!! I am too far away from everyone, being on my little island!!
Have a safe flight,
Jess
Oh wow! Lucky you!! Can’t wait to hear all about it!
Thanks again for stopping by. I love reading your blog for healthy food inspiration – but I always feel a little awkward commenting because I do not lead a raw lifestyle, and while I eat a vegan diet most days, I do occasionally eat grass-fed meats or some wild caught fish. Still, I love love love your blog (and Voracious Vegan too – in fact, she’s how I discovered you!) for all the inspiration
So thank you!!
Wow, have not been to PF Changs in ages, but I wanna go now! Fun pics and so glad you got to stock up on healthy goodies. I’m like an impulse buying kid in a candy store at Whole Foods
Hello!
