What vegetable is that?
Sorry I lost ya for a day, my sleep patterns are messing up again but here’s hoping I am not officially on Oklahoma time. How was your weekend y’all?
Yesterday saw me heading to 105degrees for the Sunday Supper Menu presented by Sous Chef Kelly Dennis.
This was my first course:
Shaved Fennel with Blood Orange and Yogurt
Pecan Encrusted Portobello with Wilted Spinach, Heirloom Carrots
Coffee, Cardamom, Coriander / Date Custard with Candied Pistachios, Macadamia Mascarpone, Citrus, Saffron.
Couldn’t believe this was a raw dessert. Tasted reminiscent of the butterscotch sauce served with Sticky Date Pudding.
Yeah this pretty much rocked my world! All raw and deeelicious. Every Sunday Supper for $25 if you are ever in Oklahoma, you should check it out!
Onto today at chef school…
We tried out some wheatgrass – I am the freak in the group that actually enjoys the taste of wheatgrass.
Mixed with apple juice
Then it was time to do something with the seaweed we had soaked last week. I made a Kale and Seaweed Salad with a tangy spicy sauce
Now here is a bit of fun. Can you guess what these two vegetables are?
I’m meeting some very new and exotic ingredients of late. I’ll reveal what they are tomorrow, unless you already know?
I chased my lunch with a Seductive Strawberry Smoothie (I think it was strawberry, banana, almond milk, coconut butter and cacao). The Spring menu debuted today so I am looking forward to getting through it over the next 3 weeks
Can you guess what this is soaking away ready to sprout?
Then it was onto bread making, for burger buns.
Ready for the dehydrator…
Then I called it a day with a cup of hot Teccino Hazelnut Herb coffee. I have been wanting to try this for some time since my pal Kristen (of KristensRaw and Green Mommy Blog)Â has spoken of it. It’s a coffee replacement which helps to restore alkaline balance.
Ingredients
Organic Carob, Organic Barley, Organic Dates, Chicory, Organic Chicory, Almonds, Natural Hazelnut Flavor, Organic Figs. Contains: Almonds.
Not being a huge fan of coffee anyway but enjoying one now and then, this was quite a tasty alternative. Would be delicious with a tasty dessert.
Speaking of Kristen, my soul sister, I am sooo excited that we are finally getting to meet up next weekend. I first ‘met’ Kristen over 2 years ago, when I became interested in the raw lifestyle and I purchased her e-books and we became email buddies. Ever since then, we’ve maintained a great friendship and I credit her ALWAYS with my transition onto a high raw diet, she has been my biggest support! We call each other  Soul Sister (SS) as we have a lot in common and I even call her mum Soul Mum. And now we’ll finally get to meet
Pretty exciting stuff.
Do you have anyone that you look to for inspiration or support in any area of your life?

Girl – that food looks soooo freaking awesome. Love the crusted portobello. MMMM. Would you please come cook for me? I so want to go to 105 Degrees the next time I’m in OKC. The last time I was there, I didn’t know the restaurant existed. I feel so cheated now. Love reading your tweet updates on the foods by the way.
Thanks Heather! I will keep up with the updates then. I would love to come ‘un’ cook for you
OKC is only about 4.5 hours from where I live….
Keep up the awesome work!!!
oooh oooh oooh where? We might be going on a road trip in a couple of weeks!
Little Rock, AR.
That portabello does look pretty amazing! And those burger buns…they look like the real (baked) version! Wow!
Can’t guess the veg, but I see buckwheat soaking…I’ve got some soaking too, ready to be dehydrated into crunchy little buckwheaties
Is that what you’re making?
Your meetup with Kristen sounds pretty great…hope you girls (and Soul Mum) have a fabulous time together! I didn’t realize you had never met! What a beautiful friendship you’ve got
Yes buckwheat! Good work. I have only ever seen it in GoRaw Granola. But now I will make it plenty for myself
Yeah Kristen and I are close, but this meet up will seal the deal! Can’t wait
Wow. Robyn. I can taste the food thru these pics! I am sooo impressed that you are THERE at 105. I remember talking to you close to a year ago ( I had just “met” you very soon after starting my blog) anyway we talked about it..and I know you said you were going and here you are! I am sooo thrilled for you, just amazing! As i said then, if i didnt have a child, i’d be doing this too! But, i am doing fitness stuff since i can stay home to accomplish that
I know! How exciting that I made it here right? Meant to be. And congrats on your new journey too lady!
Kohlrabi and rutabaga (swede)! Am I right?
I’m loving following you on your raw food school journey. It’s awesome.
Inspiring and/or supporting people… Gosh, where do I start. I am inspired my so many wonderful people. My yoga teachers are inspirational. My church pastor. My husband is my rock, and inspires me to be more chilled out and accepting of myself. And then I’m inspired by SO many amazing people in the blogsphere, truly. To a name a few would be Averie, Tasha, you, Gena
Each person inspires me to live compassionately and freely. I think I’m one of those people who can’t function without being inspired. Happy Tuesday! x
Aw thanks Sarah! You are too kind
Those crusted portabellos look SO tasty! I’m a huge fan of mushrooms, I bet I would love that dish.
And YUM, that strawberry smoothie looks like it has the perfect texture, thick and luscious.
HAVE FUN with your soul sista!
I can’t wait to make you some of this stuff Tasha!
Hmmm, watermelon radish and pineapple?
The strawberry smoothie looks awesome, so does the Pecan Encrusted Portobello with Wilted Spinach – I’m drooling!
Hey you are close (you got one right but not the other!) Damn you are goo!
radish and beet is my guess.
You rock!
That is a radish and a golden beet. I love both of those. You get to use the best ingredients there. It looks like so much fun. Thanks for sharing your experience with us
Eeek you got it just as I posted the answers hehe. Of course you would know Shannon
I LOVE WHEATGRASS!!! It’s my favorite! I have at least 2oz. every weekend! I’d have that much everyday, but it’s not often I get to the juice shop!
So glad you are having fun at 105 degrees!
XOXO,
Erin
