My Favourite (Un)Cook Books

A question I get fairly often is, what are my favourite recipe books, especially for people just starting out on raw or who are just wanting to increase the raw food into their standard diet?

So here are just a few that I totally cannot live without:

Everyone just knows how much I love this chica! And I even got to meet her in the flesh in April after a 3 year online friendship! And she is due with her first little ‘monkey’ any day now!

Kristen & I

Kristen was the first raw food chef gal I was exposed to, so it only makes sense that I totally dig all her recipe books (and refer to them often). She made raw food fun for me, and you can buy all her books online  by clicking here (instantly available and better for the planet) or you can buy her hard copy books through Amazon by clicking here. My favourites in her collection are:

Kristen Suzanne’s EASY Raw Entrees

Kristen Suzanne’s EASY Raw Desserts

Kristen Suzanne’s EASY Raw Salads & Dressings (which has the most amazing Guacamole Dressing inside)

Next up is my friend Russell James icon smile My Favourite (Un)Cook Books He was my instructor at 105degrees in April and prior to meeting him, I also frequented his blog and have made quite a few of his recipes he shares online for free. He also has a free ezine and recipe book with 5 of his most popular dishes, so if you haven’t signed up for it yet, check it out here.

 My Favourite (Un)Cook Books

I have just purchased his online ebook bundle today, so I am yet to make anything from it, but if it was anything like he created in class, then I am going to be in for an awesome treat. He also offers a mean Home Study program that if going to Oklahoma City is not within your reach, might be worth considering.

And lastly, my final favourite raw recipe books (drumroll please) are the following from Matthew Kenney (also of 105degrees fame)

Of course I have way more recipe books in my collection by chefs like Ani Phyo, model Carol Alt and many other compilation books, but these ones listed above are certainly a great start for any budding raw foodist icon smile My Favourite (Un)Cook Books

What are your favourite recipe books? Raw or cooked?

If you haven’t seen it already, why not check out We Like It Raw, for my contribution to their MY WAY segment that was published yesterday. Thanks again Dhrumil for letting me take part!

Thanks for this post!! I have no raw cookbooks yet but I’m looking into purchasing one (budget issues+internet recipes=I don’t buy a lot of cookbooks). My two favorite cookbooks currently are How To Cook Everything Vegetarian (it’s just so fun to read) and Veganomicon

Thank you Robyn for creating a post to answer my questions about your favorite raw uncook books! ;) Been thinking a LOT about attending 105 degrees. I’ll probably request to pick your brain about it at some point. Thank again!

  6. So I leave the country for a few weeks and get to come back to your fabulous bloggie makeover! How wonderful!
I’ve missed you and hope we can meet up one of these days!!!
    XOXO,
    Erin

  7. Thanks for the recommendations, I have Kristen’s hemp & snacks and sides recipe books, they’re awesome for quick look ups.

I also love “Everyday Raw” and Kristen’s books. I’d love to check out more books, although lately I have discovered that everything is much easier for me to figure out myself.

  9. Uncook books! I don’t have very many, but my favorite is Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen by Ani Phyo. She is great and that book is WONDERFUL! I could eat the raw tacos with baja cheese all day long. Thank you for these suggestions Robyn, I’m going to check them out!

  10. Triinu says:

Hi there, I just found your blog, it’s wonderful! I even tried the no meat balls and spaghetti, tasted great, thanks for sharing.

I’m very new to the whole raw thing, so I’ve been mainly reading books for “beginners”. I liked Raw Energy Bible by Leslie Kenton, great for newbies and also The Raw Detox Diet by Natalie Rose, she makes it easy to transform into raw diet by 5 steps.

    Check out my blog!

  11. Great picture of you and Chef Russell!
