Thank you to EVERYONE who commented and contributed to the dialogue on yesterday’s post. There were some truly great points of view, and I am glad everyone was so happy to talk about it. Over the last couple of months, I’ve noticed more online discussion regarding the terms used to label or pigeon hole ‘diet’ or an eating persuasion to one type or another. Things like: LFRV (Low Fat Raw Vegan) or Fruitarian HRAV (High Raw All Vegan) Vegan 100% Raw Pescatarian (eats a vegetarian diet but includes fish or seafood) Flirts (dipping their toe in the vegan pool to see if they like it) & Superheroes (a plant based macrobiotic diet of greens, whole grains, beans, mushrooms, squash and a limited amount of tofu or soybean products) terms used by Alicia Silverstone, actor and author of one of my favourite books, The Kind Diet. It’s getting ridiculously hot here now, today the high is 44′C/112′F with a low (a low?) of 31′C/87F They don’t call Saudi Arabia the hottest place on Earth for nothing! Wowee we ARE in for a LONG HOT SUMMER me thinks. Time to think of some ways to keep my cool…. Smoothies are all I feel like right now, even for dinner. I just don’t have much of an appetite for solid food, but my body is crying out for fluids. The best smoothie I have ever tasted! The Avocolada! Thanks Matthew (And Megan for introducing it to me at Raw Food Daily Class at 105degrees) Oh and there’s that straw everyone keeps eyeing off. more »
