Breakfast with Dad & Lunch with Schoolfriends
Wowee I cannot believe I’ve been here a week today and time is going at breakneck speed. Time, please slow down!
After catching up with my other favourite twinnies – NOT these ones – but one day
(I didn’t get any good photos – but they are having their 1st birthdays next weekend, so expect plenty when I do my godmother duties), I met my dad for breakfast at Brio.
I am in love with this neighbourhood and look at that blue sky IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. (And my dad wearing shorts!)
I had watermelon, pear and mint juice.
Porridge with soy and apple compote (I didn’t eat the yoghurt & honey) and I could only get through HALF of the porridge. Sooo yum.
Then I came home and started on some kale chippies.
I coated a bunch of kale with olive oil, chilli flakes, garlic powder, cumin & sea salt. I then put them in the dehydrator for 6 hours or so til they crisped up.
Meanwhile I made good to my promise of making my dad a strawberry milkshake:
Fresh strawberries, frozen bananas, home made almond milk, agave, cacao nibs, coconut oil, lemon juice and pinch of salt.
Then I went off to catch up with some pals from high school. It happened that 3 of us who live out of town were all here this weekend, so we organised an impromptu get together. It’s been 5 years since I’ve seen any of them! Was sooo good to catch up on everyones lives and made me realise that after so much time, we could all still meet up as if no time had passed.
This is not the entire gang, but all we could do last minute. Such fun.
Then it was time to come home, taste test the kale chippies
Then head to bed early ready for the FARMERS Markets. More on that tomorrow, I got some awesome finds and met some really cool peeps!

Everything looks great, what a fun time!
I loooove kale chips! Mmm!
I’ll send ya some!
Watermelon, pear and mint juice looks really tasty! May have to add Brio to my next Brissy adventure…
Check it out Melissa. It’s a great part of town! Next door is The London Club and they do great lunch and cocktails too.
Love getting together with old friends! Glad it was a great time.
And we look forward to seeing pictures of the twins! : )
Yay, I know you will just love them! Twins are always drawn to twins aren’t they?
mmm, that juice and those kale chips are right up my alley!
glad you’re having a nice visit!=)
Hmmm me too. Nom nom nom
I will take some of those kale chips. Hope the parents like them.
You certainly look to be the youngest at the reunion. Must be the raw foods.
Aw thanks Bitt…haha tell that to my boyfriend. He is 2 years older than me but looks 10years younger lol
oooh what a great day!!!!!
It’s sooo good to be home Lisa!
How lovely for you to be home!! I don’t live AS far away from my family as you do but I still rarely get to see them … it’s so nice to go home.
So lovely to see you enjoying yourself in Australia! I’m envious of your weather up there… we’re starting to get a few sunny days here in Canberra, but it definitely ain’t shorts weather!!
It’s been a magical weather in Perth too! Having my daily green juice out in the sunshine every day with shoulders and arms bare! Love it!
