Dubizzle’s the Shizzle
It’s been a while and I’m sorry but I am now officially on my vacation!
After deliberating over where to go for my latest vacation (my number 1 choice was NYC) I finally decided on a trip back home to Australia. But first I had to stop off in Dubai for a few days to have some girl time.
My friend Hayley, who I used to live with in London, has been living in Dubai for 2 years and when she told me her housewarming party was going to coincide with my stopover I was thrilled.
So the last few days have been filled with pampering at one of Dubai’s many beauty salons, checking out some truly awesome sights – Atlantis on the Palm Island
and getting lost in one of the most extravagant malls I have ever been to, the Dubai Mall – complete with it’s massive indoor aquarium:
Dubai is a 50minute flight from my home of Saudi, but I rarely get the chance to stop over there unless I am on my way somewhere else as I usually fly Emirates Airlines and their hub is of course Dubai.
Of course I made not one but two visits to my favourite café in the Dubai Mall, Organic Foods and Café, whilst picking up some food supplies for my stay with my friend (organic spinach for green smoothies in my travel blender, bananas, apples and mandarins).
Hayley’s apartment balcony has views of the tallest building in the world,
and just outside the Dubai Mall, on the hour every hour you can witness the fountain light show to music like I filmed here:
Travelling Perly also reminded me of the desert safaris with Arabian Adventures I am yet to do. Every time I make it to Dubai it happens to be too hot to endure the 4wd safari and desert dinner, so here’s hoping I make it there in the cooler months, however I think it might be very similar to the one we did in Qatar last year – just no riding of camels
I was also excited to meet some people at Hayley’s party who are very raw curious, so I am hoping to do some workshops there in the near future but having said that, I also came across this wonderful opportunity for anyone in the Dubai area, who may be interested in attending a workshop inclusive of some delicious raw goodness and a brief talk:
So after my time in the Friday brunch capital of Dubai, I am now in Brisbane, Australia for some down time with my family. Funny thing is, my brother and sister and galavanting around Italy right now instead, so it will be just me and mum and dad hanging out at their new beachside townhouse in a mild Brissie winter. I’ll write more soon

WOW girlie! You know how to live it up – ive wanted to go to Dubai for sooo long… and I really want to stay at the Burj Al Arab!
So nice that you could see your friend too!
Hope you’re having fun at home… oh how I love Australia, especially Byron Bay and Brisbane. How fortunate you are! Enjoy XO
Well if you ever get there whilst I am still in the Middle East I’d love to show you around.
I will say hi to Brissie for you. When I move back you have a place to stay anytime!
my oh my – how gorgeous Dubai!!!
It’s kinda gorgeous, but everything is so fake and man made. I can only handle it in small doses.
Sounds like fun! I Still have not been to the Mall location of the Organic Cafe! More photos, please!!!
Haha I hardly took any pics of Dubai but I promise next time!
Nice to see you back!! I missed ya!! Even though I see your updates on facebook, it’s not the same without your blog posts!
I just finished watching sex and the city 2 so it was funny to read this post right after it!!
Looks like a beautiful place!!
I miss you too honey! I made my parents dinner tonight with you in mind! Fattouch Salad. Have i give you that recipe yet?
Enjoy your down time at home!
Thanks Casey. Shame I won’t be making it to your part of the world (this time!) but you never know, we hear that the gas/oil industry is heating up in WA – perfect place for us to come home to when we are ready to leave the Middle East (my boyf works in Gas/Oil)
ohhhhhhhhh you look so happy and amazing…what a vacation!!! good for you, you deserve it…sounds so beautiful.
even more beautiful is hanging out with your mom and dad in their new beachside townhouse…and i love that your brother and sister are enjoying themselves in my home country…

Wow, it looks like Vegas… gorgeous hotels, great shopping, huge water displays… what fun!
Hey I think so too, even though I am yet to make it to Vegas, on the to do list. Maybe I will get married there
Oh man. I remember the first time I ever learned about Dubai (travel channel docu). My goodness I want to go! Looks like a fantastic time!
It was fun, but sometimes Dubai can be a little too man made.
Great pictures! Dubai looks so crazy-cool.
Your photos are incredible! The colors in the water and sky are stunning
Thanks so much for posting about your fun adventures in lovely Dubai.
Thanks lady! Some of them aren’t my own though! If you click on them it will take you to the originator
WOW, thanks for the armchair travel opportunity! From the photos and video, Dubai kinda reminds me of a Las-Vegas-on-the-water.
Have a lovely time with your folks!
Wonderful! So many gorgeous sights and eats and fun times! Enjoy your vacay with your folks.
Beautiful pics, reminds me of the Bahamas and Vegas.
Love the pics, so pretty. Makes me really want to go to Dubai now
Great photos! We’ve been to dubai but only as a stop over en route to South Africa. Don’t think we’d do that route again, much cheaper but far too long. Hope you have the best holiday. xxx
Hi! I live in Abu Dhabi and regularly have to head to Dubai Mall and the Organic Cafe for my shopping and food fix! It’s pretty crazy, huh? Would love to have some more raw foodie things in the UAE, so hope you can have a workshop over here soon. Have just got back from a month with my family in NSW – was soooo good. Have a fab time with yours…
