Just Married…
Ok ok, well it’s kinda yesterday’s news now, but on Saturday I got hitched to the love of my life, my Kitesurfer boy!
We kept it very quiet, infact loads of our friends and extended family had no idea until after the fact, and the wedding was most unconventional (just like the bride and groom!)
In the morning, my sister, bestie from Dubai, Hayley, and I, all had our hair and nails done.
Then it was back to the suite to get ready….
Bride and groom were not separated before hand as tradition dictates
We took our photos before the ceremony
and not after.
The bride did not wear white
My sister gave me away
We were wed in a church
in a Muslim country,
during Ramadan.
We celebrated afterwards with a traditional Arabic Iftar Buffet dinner (the sunset meal, Muslims break their fast with, during the Holy Month of Ramadan).
in an (much needed) air-conditioned tent.
Then an after party in the bridal suite!
Such an unforgettable day and night, that we will treasure forever.
The only ingredient missing was our family’s attendance from all the way in Australia and they were very much missed. We would have dearly loved to share this moment with them and our thoughts and hearts where with them throughout the lead up and the actual day. We are looking forward to our Australia version in the future some day soon.

What a lovely wedding! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bride in all pink, you look beautiful.
My husband and I didn’t really do the whole not seeing each other beforehand so we could do pictures. We did stay separate until right before we did pictures though, we just had a little moment in the chapel and then did photos. I think it’s a great idea.

My wedding was little unconventional too..we were married in the Bahamas, in a church with only 30 close friends and family (which is small for 2 Italians!). Oh and we slept in the same bed the night before and had breakfast together the day of the wedding.. tradition, smadition! 
Yes he and I had breakfast together too. I love that you did it very similarly too xox

Congratulations! I love the idea of simple small weddings. I would have preferred to do it this way but felt family pressure to make it bigger. I think families use weddings as an excuse to have a reunion and it is very costly for the bride and groom to foot it all! Anyhow, I also love your pink dress. I also wish I hadn’t worn white. You look so happy!
Aw thankyou Bitt! Yes I know what you mean. Our parents would have loved to come and had more input and even our friends wanted us to do certain things like have a wedding cake (which we didn’t want) so in the end we just had to remind ourselves that it was OUR day xxx

Hi Robyn. I just read about your wedding, you looked beautiful btw!
Me and my hubby went unconventional too..We discovered that we were moving out to Qatar at the end of February, and 3 weeks later we were hitched!! I wore hot pink, me and my hubbie saw each other on the day before the ceremony, we had no real photographer and then we went for a meal afterwards. It was a magical day, and i would never have wanted it any other way!
