Day in the Life of my Vitamix
Hi, what’s excitement is happening in your kitchen right now?
Before I get started just wanted to remind you that you are running out of time if you want to grab yourself Russell James’ Homestudy Program for 33% off plus all the extra bonuses. Go here to find out more!
If you still aren’t convinced you need a Vitamix (or that you would get the usage out of one) I thought I’d document a typical day in the life of MY Vitamix.
Usually I start my day off with some kind of smoothie and I try to make it a green one.
Unfortunately, blueberries win out so the spinach doesn’t get much of a view when you add it on. This is my Berry Berry ‘Greenish’ Smoothie I featured yesterday’s post.
Then it’s on to mid morning where I have taken my almond meal from a previous day of making almond milk, out of the dehydrator.
Time to whip up some almond flour for Ron*
Then I store it in the freezer for another day, another recipe.
Then it’s onto lunch. Salad. Yes please. What has this got to do with the Vitamix you ask?
Dressing:
Lemon Love Dressing Ingredients: Olive oil, lemons, black pepper, himalayan pink salt, and raw honey (from Oklahoma).
This is seriously my GO TO dressing at the moment. I may or may not have eaten the remainder as it set into a pudding in the fridge. Oops!
I’ll share the recipe tomorrow
This dressing rocks with rocket/arugula, fennel and grapefruit.
Then onto dessert. As we didn’t have any frozen bananas at the ready, soft serve icecream was not going to happen, but since the hubs mentioned strawberry milk at the dinner table, I decided to create my own raw vegan version.
2 cups of almond milk, 1 cup of frozen strawberries (seriously, what is my obsessions with the strawbs of late?), 1 t coconut butter, 2 fresh bananas 1 T agave nectar, dash of lemon juice, dash of vanilla extract and pinch of salt.
Strawberry Milk indeed.
Of course each day differs with what recipes I tend to make, however this post is pretty typical of my usage amount, as it never really gets any less than this on a typical day. Dressings, smoothies, ice creams, puddings, sauces, you name it, there is so much this little powerful fella can do. And like my hubs said to me yesterday as we bundled up our old supermarket blender to sell yesterday, it’s no VITAMIX – you’d never go back.
*Later on.

I use my Blendtec a lot too. Once you have it, you find uses for it, like grinding up all kinds of things like quinoa for flour and stuff like that.
Totally! I don’t know how I could live without it now.
My vita-mix gets a big workout daily, too!
XO
Your strawb milk looks DIVINE!!!!

Your strawberry milk & smoothie looks yummy
Haha i love it! But what is Cacao Dandy?
Love that you love your VM as much as I do. And yes the strawb milk was yummers.
I adore my Vita – and honestly, I spent way too much time fretting about whether I should buy it. I should have just bought it. I use it minimum 1x daily, but more like 2 to 3 times.
Valerie, everyone I know says that exact same thing about why they waited so long. Hail VM
Wonderful post! I must admit that one of the things I was stressing about when trying to decide whether to get the Vita-Mix or not (pre-Christmas) was whether I’d really use it enough, or whether it would be one of those appliances you buy, use twice, then forget about it.
Suffice to say my love for the Vita-Mix only seems to be growing, so I don’t think I needed to worry! Love the Strawberry Milk – it’s like a slightly less thick version of your Strawberry Seduction, but without the cacao. Both sound amazing to me, although I’m on more of a raspberry than strawberry kick at the moment. And just bought white nectarines… wonder how Nectarine Milk would compare?
P.S. I cried a little inside when I saw how much cheaper the VM is in America…
P.P.S. Would honey get through customs in SA for you, do you think?
Kudos to you for picking up on the Strawberry Seduction similarity. I made it for after dinner so didn’t want the caffeine buzz of the cacao. Oh and nectarines milk, that’s sounds interesting. I have a couple of peaches here, perhaps I should give it a try?
Oh and don’t worry, the reason the VM is cheaper in the US is because it’s 110v. That is why we were able to get two. Well that and the fact that one was Pat’s before we married
And yes I always bring food back into KSA. The only countries I find are strict on food importation are NZ and Australia
xxx
I did blend my nectarines up tonight, but I made a kind of summer berry soup with them, not a milk
Hmmm, perhaps the Strawberry Seduction is on my mind a lot because I want it to work as a sign to the universe?
Good to know about SA’s import flexibility! Stupid Australia!
I use my Vita-Mix so much too, usually 2-5 times a day! It was not cheap, but totally worth it and I’m glad I saved up and bought it.
I don’t think I know anyone that hasn’t said it has paid itself back. Ok 1 person, but I am trying to convince her to keep it
I’m in love with my Vita-mix as well! Today I used mine to make smoothies, almond milk, caramel sauce, and salad dressing. My favorite appliance, by far.
Can’t wait for the Lemon Love dressing recipe. I need to mix it up a bit, and I’m always down for a dressing that tastes like pudding!
Is it weird that we both have obsessions with such a kitchen appliance?
Aw, OK honey, yay!
My Vitamix can totally relate to your Vitamix’s schedule
I know! Every time I look at the jar it reminds me of good times!
I love the tip about making almond flour out of the pulp…I always wonder what to do with it! Do you use the flour in baking?
Oh Ange, I have some recipes coming up using it, but in the meantime check out my recipes page for the macaroons. Here is one time that I use the almond flour for

I would so love a vitamix, they look so good!
Hey Jemma – seriously if you manage to save up for one, you will never look back!
I thoroughly agree that everyone needs (not wants) a vitamix! It’s my bff!
Hi Robyn – we are aussies looking at moving over soon and I am having palpitations thinking about having to leave all my appliances at home. Did you take yours over and use adaptors, or did you shop up a storm over there? If so, where – any tips??
Hi Annalisa, are you coming to Saudi? Saudi Aramco? I would just bring them and get a transformer, because if you are like me then you would die without them! I have a mix of 110V and 220V appliances.
