Sleeping Without a Pillow
A few months back, I watched this YouTube clip of David Wolfe at his Longevity Conference and was interested by a lot of what he had to say, but what most stood out to me was his theory on being adrenalised even when you are sleeping – by using a pillow. I’ll let him tell you more about it, but all I can say is that the last few months that I have been weaning myself off the ‘crack’, my sleep has been way better quality. And we also sleep on the ground floor too.
Let me know what you think – Part One & Part Two are here for your viewing pleasure, but check out the rest on YouTube if you are interested. It’s fascinating stuff.

Oh, this is so annoying! I don’t have enough internet bandwith at home, and can’t watch at work. I’ll have to try and remember on the weekend at my parents’ place. The suspense! Are we supposed to sleep without a pillow? I’ve slept without a pillow for… gosh, five years?
Interesting. I have actually slept without a pillow for quite a while now, too, and sleep much better as well
cool!

…and then there is the theory that we should have the head of our bed raised between 10 and 30 degrees to prevent strokes, hypertension, glaucoma, migraines, snoring, breathing and sinus problems, GERD, and a whole list of stuff. I have raised the head of my bed in a primitive sort of way with a wedge under the eggshell foam that I use on the top, and have had a decided improvement in some of those things.

Interesting, thank you for sharing this article with me and this point of view.
I got a quite few months of time in my college days with out a pillow and I slept nicely.
I’ve slept without a pillow since I was a child. I couldn’t sleep, and my grandmother came in and said that if I took away my pillow and just laid my head on the mattress that I would feel better. It worked. Anytime I try to use a pillow I end up pushing it away. It hurts my neck and back because of the angle it’s putting my body, like my spine is being missaligned. I sleep a deeper, less restricted sleep without a pillow. The only pillow I sometimes use is the side-sleeper pillow (shaped like a candy cane, the long end along your back and the short end along your chest). It’s comfortable, but I still find I have a lighter sleep with it.
